Happy new year's eve everyone ... last day of 2025!! can you believe it! today's song otd is 'the lily' by gabriel olafs. i havent been listening to music as much tbh, but mostly classical nowadays. anyway, this song feels fitting for the end of a year and its gorgeous. gabriel said it's supposed to represent the different states in a journey through time. i also really like the piano version too (maybe more), its the first version of this song i listened to. it feels heavier and more grounded. i also like the ending more. but the og version sounds more complete and akin to the message imo 

cold sores

 broo i got got cursed with multiple cold sores at this time of year ,,, 😭 during winter break bruh. i cant even remember the last time i got cold sores. ts genuinely so annoying. its almost as bad as eczema. and it grosses me out to look at. bruh i look like i got botched lip filler a little bit tbh cuz my lip is swollen too 💀

ts random artwork i made last night cuz it feels like nothing ever changes sometimes. it was fun to just draw loosely and do random stuff with this piece. (and yes it was inspired by the great gatsby cover. that cover goes so hard ngl.) bro this year was so tough and its ending and starting the same way 😭at least i had akina nakamori's teen-age blue to listen to during those times. genuinely possibly the greatest song of all time. bruh im 80% sure she was my #1 spotify artist just because of that one song 💀

 its christmas soon chat.. bro i cant believe its already christmas eve. it feels like idk not december 

today i started trying to learn guitar again (my fingertips hurt so much bruh). this time i think my chords sound better (mostly)... e chord is killing me. 

also trying to get the splits again. istg if my hamstrings were flexible i could do everything theyre holding me back so bad. my legs have never hurt this much trying a new routine before too 😭genuinely so painful but i hope it works. no pain no gain fr

 its winter break, finally!! im so happy.. everything is sunshine and rainbows now.. everything funny and joyous.. 

today was so nice too... it wasnt cold at all! the sky was such a vibrant blue and the rain made everything look much more alive and pretty 

lowkey tho the sudden warmer weather makes it feel like spring / like christmas already happened lol

i also got accepted to another college today yayy. i was nervous tbh cuz i couldnt figure out how to submit my sat score and the college even called my hs 😭✌️but i ended up getting a decent scholarship. my mom said i wouldnt even get accepted bc of my low score. TAKE THAT!!! ahaha 

also it feels kinda absurd im getting accepted to everything so far cuz i have a mid sat score, no clubs, no volunteer hours, rushed essay and art portfolio, bro i didnt even know what ED/EA/RD and target/reach schools etc was not too long ago 😭im so clueless on college stuff, and yet... 

i hope i have a productive break 🙏 also hoping it snows at the end of break so we get more off days. just like last year. that was so crazy. it was amazing

i miss summer..,,

 its so cold outside all the time bruh.. i went on a walk and it was genuinely so freezing even with a thick jacket

and it gets dark so early. it feels like 10/11pm when its really 6pm. omg i miss the warmth of summer 😢

also, its so cumbersome to drive when the roads are icy. yesterday my dad couldnt even get out of the road right outside my driveway because this huge ice patch made the car go downhill instead of up 💀 the car was slipping and sliding bro 

the only good thing about it being this cold is snow days !

Some of the shows i watched as a child.. up to like age 7(?)-ish maybe otherwise the list would be too long

• Pororo - one of my main shows! i watched ts all the time and i can still remember the intro song and a lot of the lore 😭

• Tayo the bus - also a show i watched a lot. with my siblings mostly

• Dora the explorer - also top shows i saw but when i was on the younger side. btw the new dora reboot is so ugly now NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE 3D ANIMATIONNNNN!!!! this is just like the magic school bus remake downgrade ugh

• Peppa pig - this show gave my brother a british accent for a while. lol

• Masha and the bear - i also remember a good amount of lore from this show.. i remember watching it in my grandma's living room in seoul

• Pocoyo - goated and underrated.. ngl i found out recently this is a spanish show and i never wouldve expected that .. i also have a lot of memories from this. there are a few specific scenes that stuck in my mind

• Team umizoomi - i watched this with my brother mostly. also bc of umizoomi it taught him his left and right wrong so i had to reteach him the correct way 💀🤦

• Ni hao, kai-lan - i used to watch this a lot apparently but i dont remember much anymore. i do remember having a ni hao kai-lan puzzle and doing that several times, think its still here somewhere

• Little einsteins - watched some of this and also read the books (?)

• Micky mouse clubhouse - watched a lot of this.. yeah

• Bubble guppies (kinda) ik i watched this but idk if i watched it a lot

• Number jacks (kinda) i have a brief memory of watching this show. those numberjack faces creepy af 

• Teletubbies (kinda) i cant remember clearly if i watched this or just tricked myself into thinking i did. I think i watched a little bit of this show

lost souls meet under a full moon

 i just finished this book.. i havent done a book review in a long time so writing one

basically this is like a collection of a few stories following different people who lost someone they loved. and the story revolves around this boy named ayumi who is a "go-between," someone who arranges meetings between the living and dead. but only for 1 night (there are a bunch of rules)

i like how each story explores different forms of grief (kinda), the storytelling is simple but in a nice slice-of-life way. my favorite sections were kirari and tsuchiya, and arashi and misosno.. bro they were genuinely so heartbreaking 💔💔 actually this book reminds me of echo because theyre both books that follow different people. and by the end everything is sort of connected together. also! i like how you slowly learn more about ayumi's lore and it ends with a chapter just for him, finally explaining all of the mysteries in the beginning 

ngl though at times it was hard/boring/confusing to get into some of the sections. but i ended up getting hooked later on so its ok ig. also, the meetings between the living and dead felt a little lackluster. theyre supposed to go from 6pm to morning ish and be very poignant but the dialogue/scenes are so short. maybe the author thought it'd be boring to show too much of it. 

i wonder how the original japanese version would read like since this is translated 

anyway, overall it was pretty good and enthralling despite some issues .. 7/10 

also broouugh i found out there's a sequel to this and it came out recently. but its not available on libby 😭😭i want to read the books back-to-back but i cant 

oh, and i like both covers for this. feels like the cover art style matches the writing style

roommates

 bruhh i kinda excited for college but one thing i wont like (most likely) is having a roommate 😭

i like having my own space and time alone😢i feel like i cant truly relax when sharing a small & cramped room with someone 24/7. maybe itll be better if im actually friends with my roomie though. cuz my roommate and i were both kinda quiet and awkward....,,, ufff. bruh imagine spending 200k to go to college and you dont even get your own space. sometimes i had to draw late at night and my back and butt was hurtinggg cuz i was trying to draw in a way that wouldnt wake up my roommate 😭😭

also room layouts in most colleges are so mid, the beds are right next to each other. in vcu though the beds are in a line with a separator which is nice. gives more privacy. closet was small though. and the microwave there was hella loud like a demon microwave 

bruh idk i just dont like the idea of sharing everything like kitchen, bathroom/shower (tbh i dont mid this one too much), room,.... im used to having my own things ig. how can i cook in college if i have to put all my stuff in one communal fridge bruh. i dont think i can eat college food all the time cuz it triggers my eczema so bad 😭💀 i suppose im just spoiled sighhh 

if im lucky ill have a good roommate i vibe with. or none at all like my cousin aha he's so lucky for that

astigmatism

just noticed today my astigmatism is kinda bad... 😭😭

i was driving at night and all the lights were glowy/blurry. in an annoying way bc i was trying to focus and everything was slightly blurry. i was even wearing glasses wtf man! 

ngl astigmatism makes things kinda pretty at times though. i remember the first time i got fairy lights for my room, it was so pretty and shiny and reminiscent of stars. i also invited my family to look at the lights and was confused why my parents didnt seem that impressed. later i looked at the lights with my glasses on and realized they were much duller and smaller looking, and not so impressive anymore.

anyway despite that astigmatism is still bad i wish i didnt have it. why did i get cursed with all the bad eyesight genes 🤦🤦its so annoying bruh can scientists please invent something that fixes eyesight problems like a pill you can take 😭😭😭that isnt crazy expensive like lasik 😭

 i got accepted into lcad!! this college is so fast with everything bro. im kinda annoyed tho cuz my admissions counselor said i could edit my portfolio for a better scholarship but since i got the acceptance letter already i cant 😭bruh he said if i scheduled a meeting theyd review my stuff later but they lied smh my head 

im excited tho bc if i go to lcad i can go to the beach anytime i want bro. thats insane. imagine painting at the beach...... omg... also i found out one of my fav artists went to lcad ts crazy
