the backrooms (2026)

 i went to the movie theater todayyy yayy. my brother wanted to watch this movie so i took the day off work (it felt so weird to not be working on a saturday). since i dont have braces anymore i got to eat popcorn!!! 

anyway idk much backrooms lore and i didnt even watch the trailer so i had no expectations. but it was very interesting. i like the liminal-ness of it all. and the grainy camera scenes. and this movie was so creepy esp some of the 'peoples' designs. it had me on edge ngl. ouhh also some of the aesthetics/compositions/camera work reminded me of severance. im still waiting for s3.. 🥲🥲anyway the movie was pretty good. the ending felt unfinished/abrupt tho

also mary (one of the main characters) reminds me of my counselor at school. im crine 

i want to watch project hail mary next. idk when ill see it tho. i tried to check out the book on libby but the wait for it is hella long 💀

anyway im lowkey obsessed with her. shes kinda a girlfailure and somewhat relatable. idk shes just very honest about her struggles in life and its interesting/refreshing to hear her thoughts. i really hope her channel doesnt get taken down 😭😭 ily marisa

Skip to Loafer

 I just finished this anime after watching for 1-2 weeks cuz one of my coworkers said it was good 😭Also random but I kept having the hardest time remembering the name of this anime I kept forgetting it I'm crine 

Anyway Skip to Loafer is basically a slice-of-life following Mitsumi, who comes from a rural area of Japan. She moves to this big school in Tokyo for hs bc she wants to be a politician and help her hometown. She meets this guy Sousuke and they become friends awwiee. And she meets other people too. Basically kinda a coming-of-age story ig.

Ngl it was pretty good. I like the characters. Mitsumi is so cute but she also feels like a real person. Also I like her character design of having smaller irises than others. STL was also genuinely funny at parts. It felt like there was kinda no plot at first but as it went on there was some mystery and intrigue and real plot points. Also like how it subverts some tropes. Its only 12 eps so pretty short but I enjoyed it. I hope s2 comes out soon 🤞🤞
